LILY REINKE: A FUTURE HEALTHCARE HERO


Senior Lily Reinke is wrapping up high school at West Valley Innovation Center with more than just a diploma. She’s leaving a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and determination.

Lily is the oldest of three siblings and from her early days at Terrace Heights Elementary to her final year at the Innovation Center, she’s grown into a compassionate leader and dedicated student, fueled by her interest in healthcare and love for learning.

“The highlight of my high school career has to be between doing my dissections and meeting some of my best friends,” Lily shares. Her passion for science and people has driven her to pursue job shadows and projects that will prepare her for her future as a nurse practitioner.

Lily’s teachers have played a pivotal role in her journey. She credits Mr. Austin for helping her discover her career path freshman year, Mrs. Graham for her steady encouragement, and Mrs. Bourn for being “the best math teacher a student could ever ask for.”

Kristal Graham, Lily’s advisor, describes her as “a positive influence on her classmates and friends,” noting her dedication and compassion as qualities that will serve her well in her future career.

Outside the classroom, Lily notes her work with Ram Radio as instrumental in offering her real-world skills in a fun environment. She also notes the school’s tie-blanket project that helped create blankets for those in need. The project was fun, fulfilling, and offered valuable lessons in teamwork and planning.

After graduation, Lily plans to attend Yakima Valley College to pursue a degree in nursing and hopes to eventually become a nurse practitioner. “There’s just so much to look forward to,” she says with excitement.

With her drive and heart, there’s no doubt Lily will make a difference wherever she goes.

Lily Reinke: Una Futura Héroe de la Salud 

Lily Reinke, estudiante de último año de preparatoria, termina su preparatoria en el Centro de Innovación West Valley con mucho más que un diploma. Deja un legado de bondad, curiosidad y determinación.

Lily es la mayor de tres hermanos y, desde sus primeros años en la Escuela Primaria Terrace Heights hasta su último año en el Centro de Innovación, se ha convertido en una líder compasiva y una estudiante dedicada, impulsada por su interés en la salud y su amor por el aprendizaje.

“El momento culminante de mi etapa en la preparatoria fue entre hacer mis disecciones y conocer a algunos de mis mejores amigos”, comparte Lily. Su pasión por la ciencia y la gente la ha impulsado a realizar prácticas profesionales y proyectos que la prepararán para su futuro como enfermera profesional.

Los maestros de Lily han sido fundamentales en su trayectoria. Ella le da crédito al Sr. Austin por ayudarla a descubrir su camino profesional durante su primer año, a la Sra. Graham por su constante apoyo y a la Sra. Bourn por ser “la mejor maestra de matemáticas que una estudiante podría desear”.

Kristal Graham, asesora de Lily, la describe como "una influencia positiva para sus compañeros y amigos", y destaca su dedicación y compasión como cualidades que le serán muy útiles en su futura carrera.

Fuera del aula, Lily destaca su trabajo con Ram Radio como fundamental para poner en práctica sus habilidades prácticas en un ambiente divertido. También destaca el proyecto de mantas anudadas de la escuela, que ayudó a crear mantas para personas necesitadas. El proyecto fue divertido, gratificante y ofreció valiosas lecciones de trabajo en equipo y planificación.

Después de graduarse, Lily planea asistir a Yakima Valley College para obtener un título en enfermería y espera convertirse en enfermera profesional. "Hay tanto que esperar", dice con entusiasmo.

Con su empuje y corazón, no hay duda de que Lily marcará la diferencia dondequiera que vaya.
