Explore the Future of STEM at the State Fair!
Are you ready to embark on an exhilarating journey into the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)? Join us at the STEM Building at the Central Washington State Fair, where the West Valley School District has organized many exciting activities for you and your family! The STEM Building aims to generate awareness of STEM and the numerous career pathways available to the youth of South-Central Washington.
1. Robots: Unleash Your Coding Genius! Step into the fascinating realm of robotics and learn the art of basic coding. Get hands-on experience operating an array of robots that are actively used in West Valley elementary schools, at West Valley Junior High, and at our cutting-edge Innovation Center. Discover the magic of making robots follow intricate lines, narrate engaging stories, pick up objects, and conquer other cool tasks. Unleash your creativity and engineering skills as you interact with these remarkable mechanical wonders.
2. First Aid/CPR/AED: Be a Lifesaver! Do you know what to do when someone needs urgent medical assistance? Our experienced instructors will guide you through the essentials of first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Get hands-on training with CPR manikins and AED trainers, empowering you to become a lifesaver in times of emergency. Together, we can build a safer community!
3. Virtual Welders: Sparks of Creativity! Have you ever dreamt of becoming a skilled welder? Now is your chance to test your mettle with our cutting-edge virtual welding simulation! With realistic welding scenarios, you'll experience the thrill of fusing metal and honing your welding skills, all in a safe and controlled environment. Unleash your creativity as you create metal masterpieces and see if you have what it takes to be an actual welder.
4. Blood Pressure Checks: Know Your Health! Your health is your most valuable asset. Stop by our blood pressure check booth to get a quick and accurate assessment of your blood pressure. Understanding your blood pressure is essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and preventing potential health issues.
5. Computer Games: Play captivating, student-designed computer games! From solving puzzles to strategizing through challenges, these games are not only entertaining but also nurture problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. So, let the games begin!

Nuestros experimentados instructores te guiarán a través de los aspectos esenciales de los primeros auxilios, la reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) y cómo utilizar un desfibrilador externo automático (DEA). Obtén formación práctica con maniquíes de RCP y entrenadores de DEA, que te permitirán convertirte en un salvavidas en situaciones de emergencia. ¡Juntos podemos crear una comunidad más segura!

Soldadores Virtuales: ¡Chispas de creatividad! ¿Alguna vez soñaste con convertirte en un soldador experto? ¡Ahora tienes la oportunidad de poner a prueba tu temple con nuestra vanguardista simulación virtual de soldadura! Con situaciones realistas de soldadura, experimentarás la emoción de fundir metal y perfeccionar tus habilidades de soldadura, todo en un entorno seguro y controlado. Da rienda suelta a tu creatividad mientras creas obras maestras de metal y comprueba si tienes lo que hay que tener para ser un auténtico soldador.
4. Mediciones de presión sanguínea: ¡Entérate de tu estado de salud! Tu salud es tu activo más valioso. Pasa por nuestro puesto de control de la presión arterial para obtener una medición rápida y precisa de tu presión arterial. Saber tu presión arterial es esencial para mantener un estilo de vida saludable y prevenir posibles problemas de salud.
5. Juegos de computadora: ¡Juega atrapantes juegos de computadora diseñados por estudiantes! Desde resolver rompecabezas hasta elaborar estrategias para superar retos, estos juegos no solo entretienen, sino que también fomentan la resolución de problemas y el pensamiento crítico. Así que, ¡que empiecen los juegos!
